Installing a tin roof on a storage building?

I just tore down and moved a barn style storage building. It had a shingle roof with the felt and particle board underneath. I am going to put a tin roof on it when I rebuild it.

My question is, should I put the tin back down on the rafters or still use the particle board and a layer of felt paper?

Sorry didn't mean to double post.

At minimum you would need to strap the rafters. Although without felt there's no safeguard against wind driven rain. i guess it depends what you will be storing.

Personally I would install new plywood and felt. It does not sound like it is a large building.

Gotta have purlins and underlayment is recommended. If the rafters are open and you are going to heat the space, you need insulation as well.

Plywood is definitely recommended as well.

Bet you have OSB not particle board.
Huge difference.
Particle board turns to oat meal the first time it gets wet.

It is particle board, not OSB. That is what was used on it when I bought it.
The building is only a 10x12 barn style. Originally bought at Lowes I believe.
No plans to heat it. Just going to be used as storage. Furniture, mower, yard tools, etc...
