I have been looking all over and have mainly seen new install of soffits is on wood framing houses. I need to install soffits and fascia on a concrete block garage that is separated from the house. At first, I thought the instructions were to install a F or J channel on the underside of the rafters at the top of the wall. After reading some more, I noticed that the soffit is level with the fascia. If I followed my initial thought of instructions the soffit would have a slight incline.
Is this correct or are there a few different ways of installing the soffit?
The soffit should be level or perpendicular to the wall. If you have block walls to deal with, fasten a 2 x 2 belt to the walls with tapcons and then you have something to fasten your wide faced J channel to.
