Installing New Ridge Vent - Cobra or Python ?

Hi all,

I'm getting a new ridge vent installed and the roofer doing the work is able to install either the Cobra brand vent or the Python.

I wanted the Singlevent II ridge as, based on my research, it seemed to be superior to the cobra but his supplier does not carry it.

I've never heard of the Python brand.

Does anyone have some pros or cons between the Cobra and the Python ridge vents? Should I stick to going with the ShingleVent II?

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks!

Neither.

Get another rigid equivalent like GAF snow country or other.

Many times you can get Shingle-Vent at the big box stores.

Agreed, all my research into the matter suggests that baffled ridge vents are the way to go. I can get 4' piece for $15.99 at Home Hardware (little pricey but whatever, I want it done right).

Thanks for the input!
