Inexpensive Shingle Cutters...
Is there anybody making shingle cutters less expensive than the Qual Craft 1000B or Howard Tolls 2003? I prefer to cut my end shingles before I place them in and one of these would definately speed up the process over using a utility knife. I know you get what you pay for however.

I may end up getting one or the other if I can't find something less expensive, but we'll see how things go on the latest project. Thanks, Adam

Hook blade...buck a piece. BE steady.

Gimmicks are what they are, kind of like stud locators, etc. Tried and true technique with a hook blade is the fastest way to do it.

I never have tried that before. I may have to give it a shot on this project. Thanks guys. Adam

Sheffield hook blades from the UK are by far the best. we buy em in bulk. an old pair of tin snips works great for the 40 and 50 yr shingles
