IKO Shingled Roofs

Does anyone have an IKO shinlged roof that has not lasted? Mine was put on my house less than 12 yeas ago (20 year warranty) and the shingles are now rolling up. Would like to hear from people with similar problems.

Has anyone files a claim with IKO? DOES ANYONE HAVE A COPY OF THE WARRANTY? I NEED THE DATE ON IT TO INCLUDE MAY 1996 which was when I put it in. One was just sent to me but it is dated 2001. I HAVE to have it to file a claim which is absurd.... THANKS!!!!!

Get in line. All IKO roofs go bad early. The rep will right away say that you dont have enough ventalation even before he sees your roof LOL. Thats the standard line. make sure you have ridge and soffitt vents then call the rep and try to make a claim and remember the squeeky wheel gets the oil.

Do you have a copy of the warranty? They require that. I don't have it - never did. Thanks.

Not all IKO's go bad,
they had a burst of sales 'in my area' in the 90's and we installed dozens of roofs using their 3-tab shingles and did not have not one failure.
I did a repair on one last year that we roofed in 93 and it is still holding up well.

Contact the:
Material Supplier.
Roofer/Contractor.
Manufacturer.
State Attorney's Office.

Take pictures of the roof,
get every thing you learn from the roofer and supplier in writing,
if the manufacturer rep's do not respond/reply to you, try contacting them again, they will eventually.

IKO Shingled Roofs

I was in here the other day looking at some IKO Information on there shingles, posted a reply to a comment and in return they closed the post saying that this sight was for DIY business only!

So I just wanted to say to DIY sorry for anything I did wrong!
