Ice Shield


Can Ice Shield be use by itself on a flat roof with a little slope and a floating deck put over top of it? Nothing was put on top of the ice schield.

you mean exposing the shield to the elements? i dont think so. you need some kind of cap over teh shield.

Ice Shield


you have to understand what you will have to do to repair or replace any roof system under a deck,i&W is not a roofing material its a roofing underlayment,your deck is not roofing...get where im going?

Absolutely not. As tomstruble said, ice shield is an underlayment.

What I've seen used is a thick sheet of EPDM.

Ice Shield


EPDM will work.

Ice Shield would not be a good idea as the edges would be the weak point initially and over time the adhesive backing would lose its grip.
