ib roofing not laying flat...how long?

Honestly I can not understand why someone would recommend or agree to the installation of a higher end material over a bunch of shingles ?

Here is a link to some very interesting pdf. files.Specifically technical and maintenence.

Everything I have been reading about this product requires all existing roofing material has to be removed prior to installation.I have never installed the product so to say for sure I nannot.,but logic tells me that with a product such as this you would install it in the best way and the most proven method. And we all know what we think about recovers.

Also before the OP pays for the installation inquire as to why a factory rep had not been notified to inspect the roof system in regards to installation and manufacture warranty. Manufacturers Final Inspection: If a Manufacturer’s Labor and Material Warranty is requested, an inspection shall be made by a representative of IB Roof Systems, to observe the installation of the waterproofing system. The representative will check and test all welded seams prior to the installation of the separation layer, protection layers, insulation layers and drainage layer. * If any items are found to be deficient and cannot be corrected at the time of inspection, a punch list will be made and sent to the waterproofing contractor for correction.

Roofmaster, all of my warranty docs are at my shop so I can't look at them. Reading their brochures it looks like they don't have a residential ndl or system warranty.

I only do commercial so never thought to look at the resi side but it appears the only thing they offer on resi's is a material warranty. If that's the case then there would be no inspection. That doesn't help the HO at all, sheesh.

Commercially they have dedicated inspectors, not the reps, do the final. We complete and document the punch-list and they sign off on the warranty. Pretty easy group to deal with.

Geez, I've learned TWO things tonight. One about my own damn systems and another about Florida inspections. Whodathot?
