IB Roof and Insulation

I'm planning to have my 2-layer tar and gravel roof torn off and replaced with a 50mm IB roof. Anyone have any idea how this will affect the heat-retaining ability of the roof? I live in San Francisco and my attic isn't insulated. It's pretty chilly in my house as it is now.

Thanks.

It will be layed down over 1/2" recovery board. Doubt it will have much effect either way. It's the ideal time to consider adding 4" polyiso to the roofing project. Then you would notice a big difference. You made a good choice on the system.

+1

Add iso for certain.

If your gonna dump all that $$ on an Ib system it would be silly not to add at least 2" or more of iso.
Put on Tpo and the insultion will be free compared to Ib's price.

Is all your work based on how cheap you can do it? Some people care about the quality.:no:

Are all your suggestions about how great Ib is?
Tpo is a fine roof that when properly installed will service the owner for a long time. Just as long as a pvc or epdm would.
Why push a roof thats 3 times the cost of a comparable membrane that works just as well.
