I believe ridgevent is leaking

Got up and roof and above where the leak is coming from, two peices of ridge vent meet each other (seam) I pulled (with little force) on one of the pieces of ridge vent and it just comes up, two of the nails are no longer attached and can just be lifted out of the roof.

This is the first time it has leaked.

My first instinct is that I should just nail it down with two new roofing nails an inch from the old nails and then caulk over the new nail heads and run caulk along the seam of the ridge vent? What do you advise? Ty

If you are going up there, use screws.
