How Important is Drip Edge?

That's what my roofer told me 30 years ago. Went to replace my roof and had to replace facia boards and many, many sheathing boards costing me lots more $$$. As Jagans said, "it is VERY important."

How Important is Drip Edge?

He agreed to add the drip edge. He asked me if I wanted all four sides of the house done or just the front and back where the gutters are. He was leaning towards just doing the front and back because he said it's the most important areas. He said adding it on the sides of the house won't look nice because the color will never match the fascia board and the drip edge will stand out because there's no gutters to cover it there, plus the water doesn't drip over the side edges because there's no gutters there.

I agreed to just the front and back. I hope that was a smart move.

Big mistake and once again he was just trying to get out of doing it right.
