how to fasten downspouts

I have aluminum downspouts around my home. What's the best way of fastening them so they do not become loose because of high winds, etc...currently I have a nail going through the downspout to the gutter, but it often comes loose.

I'm referring to the part of the diagram that says "4-6 feet from house"

Like motor oil... brand and such really don't matter much IF it's there.
I was more referring to the extension.

I've used 24" insulation ties bent to the shape of the down spout.

I curved it to the left because of a been back by the spruces? Should I place one of those insulation ties on the pipe itself?

If that was my place I'd bury drainage pipe heading down the hill and have drain to daylight.

You have plenty of slope there, all you have to do now is dig a ditch.

My big Inverness is the downspout by our basketball in the front. The ball will constantly bang into it. Any thoughts?
