how can I support my timber roof?

I am buying a property in a few weeks and on the structrual report is explains that the roof needs additional supports to take the weight of the new concerete tiles. I am a traniee carpenter myself but want conformation that all it needs is A frames installed to distribute the weight to the purlins and wall plates?

Many thanks

What material is currently on the roof?
...concrete tile?

Yes they have been changed from traditional slate to modern day marley roof tiles!
