How to best seal an opening on the inside of the drip edge where the wall is?

In trying to locate a roof leak, I found an opening I need to seal off. I shot some water from a garden hose to it and water dripped from the T&G ceiling inside.

It's easier to show with a picture. Look at the part I circled.

This is about 20" long 3/4" wide?

How should I seal this off? Being a corner connection I need something flexible right?

Should I use some acrylic wood filler to patch the underside wood piece until the joint is small enough to caulk over?

Or should I just spray in some expansive foam into the crack and be done with it?

Or some other way?

This should be sealed, but its not your roof leak.

Most builders dont give a crap about that area, they assume no one see it so the stucco is usually unfinished. I see this all the time when reroofing, they do half a$$ stucco, siding, or trim because you cant see it from the ground.

Yes it is not a leak but I am thinking being in Miami when I have a hurricane and driving rain some might get on the underside so I would like to seal it off.

Doesn't have to be pretty but looking for the best way to do it.

Probably the easiest way to deal with that would be to knock down the high spots of the stucco, install a trim board, caulk and paint it.
