How bad is this?

My roof has a double valley. House was originally u-shaped and an addition was put in the middle. So now it has two valleys that holds some water. It apparently does shed water enough or else my roof would leak?

The house is 40 years old and the addition is 25. It doesn't appear to leak.

Just wondering how normal this is and if.i should be concerned?

I can't tell how far up the rubber membrane goes , I guess that keeps it from leaking but what if water goes up above it?

Poor design, it's called a dead valley. As long as that membrane does not leak it will be fine.
At some point it will fail.
Even a tapered valley so the water will run off and not just sit there would be better if at all possible.

I agree with Joe.

If that does leak, it will be a huge mess. Make sure to inspect it a couple times a year, you will want to replace it before it fails.

Yeah Breed too. Unless they are all past tense mosquitoes.

Idiotic design. Maybe down the road you can extend the chimney and the outer slopes up to a common ridge. As Joe has asked a million times, where are you located???

The entire area from ridge to ridge should have been roofed with fully adhered EPDM
