house looks like mobile home

Our house looks like a mobile home, it has no structural interest. Basically, it is a large rectangular box (much wider than deep) with a very low pitch roof (2.75/12).

We want to add structural interest by adding a front porch on the long strech of the house, thus adding a third gable. Should we redo the roof at a higher pitch, like 5/12 or 6/12?
