Help repairing failed flashing at a wall/roof/corner intersection
I am residing my garage this week and am attempting to fix a water leak that has allowed water to get behind the siding and run down the sheathing where a corner meets my garage roof. Fortunately the water stayed mostly on the sheathing and did't cause any structural damage to the frame, but it did rot the 5/4 corner boards and various other trim pieces below it and I need some advice on how to properly flash this area.
Attached is a sketch of my exact situation as viewed from the 2nd floor bathroom window.

The flashing is suppose to pass under/through the corner boards.

Not sure what that diagram portrays.
Maybe this will help you. This dead end valley has 2-3 corner scenarios that may apply. http://www.albertsroofing.com/Valley%20Details.htm

More than likely no diverter on that wall when they installed the step flashing and wrapped that corner.
