heat tape

I need to run heat tape between an exterior wall and a roof.
Can heat tape be run through copper or any other pipe that could than be attached to the roof?

heat tape

We had to run a commercial grade of Heat Tape through a drain pipe from an In Wall Roof Drain on a TGIF Restaurant, because the coldness and lack of sun striking that wall would freeze up the pipe and back up the water on the entire roof surface, which was a hot asphalt built up roof system.

So, that was either cast iron or pvc pipe as I don't remember from over 15 years ago the exact details.

heat tape

Heat tapes are often run through water lines to keep them from freezing also drain lines. Check with a local plumber or a local plumbing supply outlet. They should be able to give you details of this type of installation.
