gutter fasteners

I need to take some gutter downspouts apart, and am finding this fastener (photo). How do I detach this? I've never seen these before.

It’s a aluminum rivet, you drill it out with a 1/8” bit.

Sheet metal screw, probably #8.

A small screw works fine. We use the rivets because of the smooth finish on the inside. Even a short screw still has that little point sticking in there waiting to sang a leaf, and then another. You can get a cheap rivet gun and the rivets for under $20 at any hardware store.
