Flashing Uplifting...

It doesn't really flap. It's hard like plastic or another metal. I'm gonna get up there tomorrow and feel it and really check it out. I'll keep u posted. If in fact it is the protective white film. Can I paint the aluminum white so it doesn't blind me when I look at the house?... Do u think some enamel would do it?

Well, the film isn't rigid but who knows. As far as painting it? I'm not a painter but you can jump over here and ask them http://www.diychatroom.com/f4/

That really looks like a skirt flashing behind your siding lapping over your roof-to-wall. It's just a flat piece of metal and that corner somehow got curled up. Maybe the roofers bent it up when they installed their flashing.

Don't want to tell you to pin-nail it back to the wall as I don't like telling people to poke holes in their exterior finishes. Could take a small shim and wedge it behind the siding to hold it flat which would be rather odd looking.
