Flashing suggestions please - rake fascia meets open valley

I am looking for suggestions on how to properly flash this exposed roof where the rake fascia meets an open valley flashing. Right below the bottom edge of the picture is eve spouting. This is builder work and I am concerned that water can freely blow into the roof. Thank you! (links/documentation/images are especially welcome)

I have always just trimmed the valley flashing along the line of the rake.
Then a little mastic between the flashing and the rake roof drip edge seems to do fine. no nails at that area.

Andy.

They should have run the "apron" (wall to roof flashing) all the way under
the "W" valley, flashing.
I think I'm seeing bare, wood - between the fascia and the roof.
You can try and slide a piece of flashing, under the aluminum fascia -
over lapping the existing apron.
If you use any mastic/sealant -
Don't use "tar"/roof cement -
Use "Quad" or "Solar Seal".
They didn't use roof-edge.
