Flashing around furnace chimney from peak to eave?
I'm shingling a roof and the homeowner wants metal flashing from his peak to the eavestroph centered aroung his chimney. He says it is to prevent fires. I have never done this and I was wondering if anyone has some ideas on how it should be done.
I was going to just shingle the roof as usual and then place the tin (32" wide) around the cimney from the ridge cap to the eave.
Any help would be appreciated.
you should post a pic of the area
What is wrong with using Class A fire resistant rated shingles?
Or, just give him a bid for a metal roof instead. One section in the middle would look like chit.
