flashing

I'm in contract for a full floor loft in a building built in 1920. My unit is the top floor of the old construction, vaguely neoclassical and 2 floors of new construction have been added over it. Well, unfortunately my apartment turned out leaky from the front and the builder decided to patch it with metal flashing, a piece of corrugated metal poorly put together that go thru the whole facade of the building and to me ruins the whole "look" (but at least has stopped the leak ). I 'm wondering if any of you professionals can suggest any alternative device that would have the same function but esthetically more pleasing and expensive looking . Any idea is appreciated! Thanks!

If you host your pic at one of the many web pic hosting sites, they will give you the option to generate the necessary codes to post a link in these forums to your pics. Get the img code and reply in "Go Advanced," of which the button is loated below this text box. Click on the toolbar the button that says insert image, insert the url into the popup box thingie, and bam! Youve got a pic.

Anyway somebody may be able to answer this. Is it possible to cover the metal flashing with a layer of stucco?Is it at all done? I would do anything to have this metal disappear from my sight....

Did you close yet? If not make them fix it properly, first!
I should think the seller would be responsible for that, or have them put a clause in the contract, that the seller either will fix it or pay for it to be fixed, then have them add the money in at the closing.
( Don't close the deal unless you get the money. Call a specialist, get an estimate or at least 2, and have them write it down on paper. Bring it to the closing and tell them that needs to be deducted at the closing.... Leaks are very serious, and could cause a lot of damage, not to mention Mold which could cause severe lung problems, trust me I know.. I hope there is no mold, for your sake, you may also want to check into that as well. Good Luck!
