Ok, so this is a strange post, but I wanted to share.
around 5 years ago, I pulled off two layers of Torch down rool roofing from the flat roof of my garage. The garage is two car and there is a slope of about 1/2 inch per foot. There are parapet walls all around the edge of the roof and crickets to help the water flow to the scuppers. So now the strange part. After reading up on various diy ways to cover the flat roof, I settled on fiberglass mat and fiberglass resin. For 900 bucks, I was able to replace all the plywood, coat it with fiberglass resin and then add two layers of heavy fiberglass mat and resin. Then I gave it a gelcoat (white) finish. The results, after 5 years in the az sun are amazing. No cracks, no leaks, no chalking and the garage is cooler. Yes it was a boat load of work, it involves hazardous chemicals and it was rally not fun to do, but the results are nothing short of amazing. Bottom line is that I basically created a hand made bathtub on the roof of the garage!!!!
just wanted to put this out there and let people know I would be happy to answer any questions about the process.
