Gable and shed style roofs are absolutely no problem.

Hip roof can be a problem to vent. Unless the nail base is of the cross-vent variety there won't be horizontal air flow. Potentially half or 25% of the roof could remain unvented, depending on actual size and shape. Or you could vent the hips, but I hate this practice.

Energy saving roofing materials


Ahh, ok, so it's the application of the panel within a specific roof design.

There are some panel manufacturers that utilize blocks within the air space to provide omnidirectional air flow. There are also manufacturers that use full-length boards within the air space and they only provide unidirectional air flow. It is important to consider these parameters when designing for each particular project.

Yup! That's exactly what I was getting at. Usually I'm the one throwing out the big words though
