Elastomeric coating for asphalt shingles?

There is a product called Snow Roof which is a reflective elastomeric coating for asphalt. It seems that this would seal leaks and keep the shingle termperature down. Does this work with asphalt shingles on sloped roofs, or only with hot asphalt on a flat roof?

Thanks,
Arn
