Dome skylight leaking
Hi,
I have a leaking dome skylight that sits on top of a flat roof. The skylight has a diameter of about 6' feet. The leak seems to be coming from the location where the skylight sits on the roof. The area between the skylight and roof looks like it had been sealed with a black henry roofing cement which is now cracked -probably where the water enters and drips through below ceiling.
I know I will need to remove all the old cracked roofing cement and clean the area thoroughly before applying a new layer.
What is the best material to use for sealing the area between the skylight and the roofing material? and what is best to use on the glass of the skylight?
I know the black roofing cement cracks easily, so is there any other type of longer lasting material or solution for this leak?
Thank you and I appreciate all help and response for this matter.
