Do I need ridge vent for a small porch roof?

I have a small, probably 8x8 porch roof that'll have vented soffit around it. Since it's open to the rest of the main house attic, I didn't know if it'd vent with the rest of the house or if it needed it's own ridge vent as well?

Also, does anyone know the best place to order Shingle Vent II online? It seem like a pretty good product...

My local lumber yards only carry the plastic corrugated ridge vent you roll out. It only flows about 12-13 cubic inches per foot, versus the 18" or so Shingle Vent II does.

Thanks for the help.

It's an open porch. I was planning on using vented soffit just so it would match what was around the rest of the house.

And, in case it helps someone else I ordered Shingle Vent II through modern builders supply online. They'll only sell to individuals if you order online though, otherwise you need to be a business or contractor.
