Designs in shingles

Hi, I was hoping someone could suggest a book or website that would show how to put designs or patterns in shingles on a roof. I remember seeing years ago pictures of house roofs and barn roofs where they used two different colors of shingles and made like a big diamond on the roof with say red shingles with the rest of the shingles being white. I need the formulas on how to do that. Thanks. Doug

Designs in shingles

I know what you are speaking of. I remember an article from a long time ago and have searched for the contractor who does a lot of this type of work.

They are based out of Indianna and make al sorts of designs on their computer first and then lay them out in all sorts of patterns.

I will look through some of my books I have at the office later tonight for you.

It also can be achieved through Certainteed with a mixture of the Grand Manor and the Carriage House shingles. I know of one home in Crystal Lake, IL that has the flower petal pattern on their home in that manner.

Designs in shingles

Doug,

This one won't be easy.

I have already "Used The Force", er I mean Google for any kind of search string I could think of several months ago and could not find the information. It must be in one of the dozens of Roofing Books I have.

When I was discussing this on the Contractor Talk Forum, one roofer from Indianna new what I was talking about, but was having a brain cramp trying to remember the name of the company.

I will try, but this one is going to take some time.
