consequences if patio awning has a 10 degree fall instead of 5 degree

I am going to install a stratco outback awning over my patio area. The cover will be attached to two walls to the house, the size is 6m x 3m . The manual says that the angle should not be more then 5 degree. What is the reason for that? What would happen if I install it at and angle of 10 degree?

with what little info you gave my assumption is the 5 degree is the minimum pitch to shed water. 10 degree will only help to shed the water faster.

Most people here will not even know what a stratco outback awning is.
Can you post a picture or at least a web site?

? Why would you not be asking the manufacturer this question?

Where do you live, I could be wrong but that sysyem sure looks pretty flimsy.
