Chimney flashing rotted and siding question

Hi All,

Sorry if this is in the wrong forum.

What should my plan of attack be?

While we're here...you see how the corners of the siding stick out? How do I fix that? It does not want to push in...it just springs back. Were they sized wrong when the house was built 15 years ago (saw an old hornets nest in there already)? Only 2 corners shown are like that - the other 2 are fine.

Chimney flashing rotted and siding question

I'm thinking of spraying the metal with rubber spray. I saw the informational for Flex Seal but it comes out to $40 for 2 cans.

Someone said truckbed spray is pretty much the same stuff and cheaper.

What do you guys think?

No, that is not proper.

What is the pitch on that cap like? Seems that it is pooling at the flue penetration.
