Chimney Flashing
I would like to know if it was ok to run the flashing around a brick chimney on a metal roof clear up it and under the metal cap. Chimney is lined with a SS liner and has stuff around it. It is used for a wood burning furnace.

Need a picture of that one, Sounds funky.

Mo, I'll speak for everyone who reads your thread and wants to help.........a picture or two would really, really help. Don't climb up on that slippery metal roof to take the pics, but, even something from the ground would help us help you.

I am not good with computors and have dial up it takes 20 minutes to down load a picture. I live in a small town i have been trying to think of a friend that has better internet but most of my freinds dont have computors. It is about 6 inches from the peak and is only 20 inches tall on tall side. I was trying to keep from cuting bricks. If i have time i may go to library and use theirs to do a picture.

You cut the morter not the brick. Not all that hard with a 4-1/2 grinder with a diamond blade.

Up in these parts 98% of roofers cut both the mortar and the brick. Insurance claims pay to cut the mortar and the brick.
Personaly I like the clean straight look of counter flashing reglet over stepped off flashing. |
