Cheap roofing?

I noticed a lot of barns and shacks here in Alberta use this kind of roofing. I'm guessing because it's easily available and cheap. But what is it called?

Every time I've ever went to Home Depot or Kent, they tell me it's metal roofing and it's the most expensive roofing and typically only business use it and it's all pre-ordered. But i believe they're referring to something else...

Any help or more information?

Corrugated metal roofing ... Used on barns all over the word. The metal roofing HD would have referred to would be something like Interloc which is indeed an expensive roofing material compared to asphalt shingle. The latter comes in longer lengths (20' or so) whereas corrugated metal comes typically in smaller panels and is basically just to keep the cows dry

except that's rolled rib, not corrugated.
Cheapest crap out there but you are correct in that its only worthwhile use is for keeping the livestock sort-of dry.

I never recommend putting it on a structure you care about.

It's so dinged up in that first pic I thought it was corrugated lol. I forgot to mention ... Also great on outhouses if you're going for a Walton's rustic feel ;-)

Yeah, first glance I thought it was corrugated or 5v also. Had to look through the haze and the damage to see it. Somehow I would picture the Waltons using wood shakes or shingles. Didn't they own a lumber mill?
