Certainteed Shingles Claim

Hello!
I recently discovered that our roof has defective Certainteed Shingels which were part of a class actions settlement. Our house is 13 years old and warranty on the shingles is 25 years. However, we are not the original owners; have been in this house 6 years.

1) Can anyone share with me their experience regarding getting Certainteed to pay? The local roofer is telling me that Certainteed has been paying about $1000 on average when the roof cost $12k-$15k.

2) What is the rough split between material and labor costs for replacing a roof?

Thanks
Vik

1. True

2. anywhere from 25% to 50% depending on how good of materials and how good the labor is.

Thanks.

1) True on the estimated cost of roof and/or what Certainteed has been paying out?

2) 25-50% is the cost of material or labor?

1. True on both

2. 25% to 50% of the total cost of a roof replacement is in material cost.

In Denver today, the going rate seems to be around $280/sq to strip and replace a roof. (asphalt shingles)..
