Box Gutters Fix or Aluminum?

So I had some leaks with my box gutters and I'm trying to decide to reline them or switch them to aluminum gutters. The gutters do overhang quite a bit so I'm sure there is room to saw of the box gutters and put on aluminum gutters. A few of the neighbors with similar homes have aluminum gutters so I'm sure it can be done.

There are at least three leaks and one is so bad the wood paneling under the gutter rotted and fell off. How good is relining box gutters and long does it last? My estimate for aluminum gutters was 2750. That sure seemed like a lot to me since There is only about 100 linear feet. So 27.50 per foot?

The gutters are $8 for 10' at Home Depot so there is at least $100, they will need wood so no more than $150 for that, and I'm not sure where the rest is coming from. Is that price too high? This is for a 2.5 story building about 30 feet up so I can see more, but thats about double what the most I thought it would be was.

Box Gutters Fix or Aluminum?

you should properly repair the original trim details on your house and have the gutters properly rebuilt

Box Gutters Fix or Aluminum?

I also have box gutters, and they need replaced or repaired. I will be replacing the roof in the spring, which is still the original slate tiles. I assumed it would be a good time to repair the soffit and facia, and I planned on putting new gutters on. The house was built in 1896, so it needs some work.
