Best way to repair where DircTV antenna was

I'm selling my house and the DirecTV dish will be removed. It's held into place with several 1/2" lag bolts through the shingles into the sheathing. If I cannot locate extra shingles, how do I repair the 8 small holes?

Thanks!

Fred

Get different shingles to as close a match as possible.

So, there's no GOOD way to patch without replacing the shingles?

Thanks!

Not that I'm aware of. Water will get around/through any caulk you can buy.

Negative just as the man says below.

+1

Seen and gotten far too many calls about caulk fixes that don't hold up when it comes to the big holes.

Nail pops are one thing but lag bolts leave a much bigger hole.

Then shingles it is!

Thanks

You can bib them. On a cold day, or early in the morning, slide a wonder bar under the tabs, and break the self seal. Under the tab set a cut piece of 30 lb felt in flashing cement. Put a dab of lashing cement on each corner of the tab and set it back in place. You could also use a piece of aluminum somewhat color matched to your shingles. Mismatched shingles would look worse than bibbing in my opinion.
