best material to patch leaky roof in Pa.

Hi, have a leak in my ceiling in my sunroom. Don't know where it is coming from due to the wood beadboard ceiling. I am thinking it is coming from an exhaust that was put in a few yrs. ago. We have an exhaust cause there is a hot tub in the sunroom. Anyway I wanted to get some roofing patch. What is the best patch i can buy, and use in the winter in Pa? and will last a long time?

Black plastic roofing cement. It comes in various size cans and brands.
Wear old clothes, rubber gloves, and use a throw-away putty knife, paint stir stick, piece of yardstick or ruler, etc. as an applicator. This stuff is extremely sticky, and I usually get more on me than the roof.
It can be applied in the rain, and will stop leaks. I imagine that it should at least be "inside room temp" when you apply it though.
Good Luck!
Mike

We need to ID the roof material. Black mastic or whatever else you find in a can will often destroy the roof material. And it doesn't last long either.

Without knowing what type of roofing you have we cannot recommend anything. Mastic is usually a last-ditch effort, temporary at best. Depending on the material it could cause more damage than good.

I am assuming you have ruled out condensation from that hot tub.
