Basic shed roofing?

So basicly I've got four walls, a door and a couple windows, no roof. I'm a rookie to the hobby and am lost at the moment. I've got man made logs (consistently straight and all the same thickness) of very long length and am wondering how to use these in order to make a roof. I just want practicality, not looks. I'd not like to spend much (like most!) but I need to know what to purchase (boards, etc) too. So if you were in my situation, what would you do?

Basic shed roofing?

How about sawing the logs to make rafters and sheeting!
