Any issues with connecting gutters form one side of house to other - DIY Chatroom

Hey gang,

I am trying to come up with a better way to manage my roof drainage. As of right now I have a 1100 sq ft ranch that has 4 gutter downspouts that each drain several feet away from the foundation. Because of neighbor proximity I cant extend the 2 rear gutter downspouts to the side any more and because of the abscence of good grading away from the house at the back I am thinking of connecting the back 2 downspouts to the fronts. I would do this by running them along the sides of the house and then "T" into the front vertical sections. Then I can easily manage the front downspounts farther away from my foundation and there is a better down grade at the front of the house on the one corner and I can then use my driveway as a drain plane for the other and have the water flow down the driveway toward the street sewer gutters. Anyone see any issues with this?

One issue I think you need to consider is the amount of water that will go down your driveway in the winter months. Will this cause icing issues on the driveway? Also you will need to make sure that where you tie into the front downspouts that they are large enough to handle the additional water.
