Aluminum undereave vent residue

I installed multiple aluminum Air Vent 16"x4" vents over my 2" soffit holes about 6 months ago. I recently noticed an odd residue which I thought was bird poop, but upon closer inspection appears to be some type of oxidation or salt buildup. I do live in a tropical and humid setting, and was slightly concerned that this could be indicative of a bigger problem. Anyone experience or seen this before?

Default did you even see that? It's probably dust. If you're really concerned, poke your head up in the attic.

Why didnt you cut open the whole area under the grille? The holes are choking off your airflow to zip.
