Aluminum fascia wrap headaches

We are building a new home and acting as our own GC. We hired a contractor to bend the fascia wrap for us and it was incorrect when we went to install it. We have someone that will bend the incorrect material so it will work but it will leave us with about an inch gap of exposed fascia board at the top. Our guttering contractor is telling us that this is okay because his gutter will cover this and still protect the fascia board. I just want to make sure this is correct and that we are not causing more issues for ourselves in the future with rotted fascia board. Thoughts?

Thanks for the help.

Make him redo it. If water ever gets behind the gutter where will it go? The metal should be under the drip edge of the roof.

If the original contractor broke it wrong.,.,then.,.,have him do what you payed him to do.

The second one should have IMO left it alone. Now the first guy is out of the material because it was altered by someone else.

An experienced roofer/sider/gutter contractor will know what will work and what won't with breaking metal.IMO when a piece of metal is broke high then altering a piece of metal that close won't work.Resulting in exposure.

The reason I say that is because he (Original) could have used it on a future job. Then it might not have hurt him too bad.

Yes,he might have a lesson to learn BUT there is a softer approach to financial lessons learned.

I'd find a new siding guy and a new gutter guy.
