adding a ridge-vent to my 12x16' shed

I'm considering adding a ridge-vent to my 12x16' shed this summer when I re-shingle/paper its roof. There are soffits on two sides. Is this something that's too complicated for its value? What should I be considering while I look at doing this project?

Some pics...
Forgot to add the first time around...

Also,

What are the "blocks" and bracing I see along the interior? What's their purpose? Thanks!

It's a fairly simple project with your roof line. With the roofing removed, you'll cut the OSB back an inch or so on each side of the ridge. You'll roof up to the newly cut opening and then install the ridge vent and the cap shingles.
If you don't fall off the roof or cut yourself with the saw, you should be fine.
The blocking is to reinforce two boards that come together. The rafter ties keep the walls from spreading.

I edited the post. It looked like someone having a stroke was posting.
If you're careful up on the roof you should be fine.
