jeanien Newbie   Join Date: Aug 2009 Posts: 2	adding a porch to existing house My husband and I are building a porch which connects our house to the garage. I would like some advice about conneting the porch roof to the existing vinyl siding on the house to prevent any leaking using flashing. Also how to use flashing on garage roof where the new roof connects.

Does the garage have a footing/foundation at the same depth as the house? When you say porch - wood - like a deck, concrete pad, totally enclosed? Are you in a snow/freezing zone? A picture of the area would help

jeanien Newbie   Join Date: Aug 2009 Posts: 2	adding a porch to existing house Yes, the garage is detached form the house. They are not the same depth. The porch is made of wood...it is only about 10' wide where the garage is 24'. We do get a little bit of snow and ice in the winter.
