I dont believe my home has enough soffit venting to allow air to flow into the attic and out the ridge venting. The soffit is the typical aluminum material, but those with holes in them are scarce. (about 1 every 8 feet). My question is, how can I add additional soffit venting without tearing out the existing soffit? Thanks
I would think if carefully done you could buy vent grates similar to air return grates and cut holes in the soffit and screw them up. Find vents with a size that will look good in the space and get with a color or paint to match. The correct style vent would have a screen so if using a basic stationary vent grate make sure to put a screen on the back side or you may end up with a bunch of bugs making a new home up there.
