1'X20' flat roof repair
Thank you for reading my question.

I have a small area of roof (first floor addtion) that measures around 1.5ftX20ft. The roof has a small slope leading water to the gutter.

The material looks like normal black tar, no signs of shingle or paper. There are a lot of areas on this small roof is bubling up and cracking.

What can I do to repair this small piece of roof? Some one suggested throwing some more tar on top. Does that work?

Thank you all in advance.

Removal and replacement of a roof that size should be relatively inexpensive.

1.5 feet or 15 feet?

No, throwing tar will at best, be a very very temporary band-aide.

If it is one of those DIY emulsions that are extremely luquidy, you will wind up paying double or triple to have your roof done correctly when it starts to leak.....and it will.

As soon as the product starts to age and harden, without a reinforcement scrip to hold the composition together, whatever it is attached to, ie; the roof surface, will bare the brunt of the expansion and contraction forces which will wind up spliting the underlying roof membrane material.
