Question

1st rain = discovered roof drainage problem

We had our 1st rain this past weekend. And, we discovered that the enclosed patio roof has a(or some) drainage problem(s).

I'm a beginner so please forgive my poor choice of terms and ignorance. I'll take a picture and post it, but here's a verbal description:
- The metal roof has a built-in drain/gutter along the 2 edges.
- The metal roof has 2 downspouts located at the outer corner and 1/2-way along (in the middle of) the lower edge.
- The water flowed out the inner corner, around the corner "cap" despite some older looking caulking on the outside of the cap, and in a line of drips between that corner and the middle downspout.

The leakage soaked the door, its frame and the inside wood panels radiating away from the doorway.

How do we solve/fix?

You will probably need a pro experienced with these. So many parts are integeral with each other, there is seldom a simple fix. Often, the leak gets built into the unit and some disassembly is needed.

Before we do that, there must be some helps/fixes we can DIY, eh?

What if we reframed the doorway, very slightly elevating that section of the roofline?

What if we just recaulk the corner cap? And with which caulk? Do you use the same caulk on the outside as on the inside of the gutter/corner?

What if we add a downspout for the corner by the door?

What if we add a deflecting "roof" for the doorway?

What if we shellac prime and paint the doorway's wood?

What if we... (fill in with your recommendations)
