1927 Metal porch roof/Deck 4'x6' (EDPM or Rolled roofing).
 

Hello,New to this site. Any help much appreciated. I have owened this house in Minnesota for 21 years. Removed in/outdoor glued carpet, rolled roofing,most of looks like black tar based adhesive down to original metal deck. The metal has 1 crack in seam apprx. 6" and 1"nick from putty knife. I have EDPM and rolled roofing w/ice&water. Which would be better to use? Will the hard tar residue on metal roof eat/deteriorate EDPM adhesive and EDPM? If I use rooled roofing do I need ice/water shield underneath and will cold adhesive stick to ice/water surface when rooled roofing applied over it? Will I need Roof edge over top of rooled roofing to keep from curling? I will glue new carpet on either surface used. What do I need to repair the two cracks for each methed? Not much for traffic on it. Also the metal roof goes over trim/molding apprx. 1/2". Thank You for any help.

I am unemployed(construction) and would like to do this small project myself.I have tried 4 different roofers, one came out and never heard from him and the other three again. Please see 1927 thread below. Need help ASAP. Thanks
