What size cemet backer board?
I am installing 20x20 Ceramic tiles in my kitchen and dining room. I have 23/32 osb on the floor currently with joists being 2x9 and 16 inches on center. The span of the joists is 11ft. What size cement backer board do I need for this application to support the 20x20 tiles, 1/2 or 1/4 inch and do I need to put down some plywood to help with the support? If so what size? Also will my joists be sufficient to support the weight? Any help would be great. Thank you.

1/4 is fine.

CBU adds no structural support. One of the tile guys should be along to let you know if your floor is OK.

Yea, your joists are good enough for ceramic/porcelain as long as they're installed correctly and in good condition.

Your joists are 2x10", which measure 1.5"x9.25". 3/4" OSB subfloor is adequate too. It wouldn't hurt to add more ply if you want, the more the better. 1/4" CBU is intended for floors, use the thicker ones if you need the height. You could use Ditra or one of the Noble membranes instead.
