Trying to install self stick vinyl tile on ceiling but it doesn't stick
I'm trying to install self stick vinyl tile on my bathroom ceiling but it doesn't stay stuck on for long. The ceiling is painted drywall.
I've tried henrys tile primer but that doesn't seem to help much. Should I use some kind of adhesive or is it just a bad idea to be using self stick tile on the ceiling?
Of course it's not gonna stick. That adhesive is pressure-sensitive and only works on horizontal surfaces. Won't work on walls either. It should work if you spread a fine film of a thick-bodied mastic such as 'cove-base' adhesive. And yes, it's a bad idea regardless.
Why vinyl tile on a ceiling....had to ask.
It's an attic bathroom with a diagonal wall/ceiling within splash distance of the tub and self stick tile seemed like the easy solution.
Guess I'll have to figure out another solution.
