Trouble with tile in shower

2 Attachment(s)
We recently had a custom shower built. Tile was ( glued ? ) to bench area directly to hardy board. After sitting for approximately two months to dry,
the shower was eventually finished. Now two pieces have fallen off. If any
one can help, I would sure appreciate some input. The substance behind the tile is soft still.

Hi Brian,

I've got bad news. That's mastic, which is not the right adhesive to use in wet applications. You'll need to remove at least part of the shower tiles especially the lower parts & horizontal. Was the floor done that way too?

Can you describe how it was all built and the materials used? Who did the work. obviously not a tile setter right?

Who told you to wait 2 months before using the shower? I'm guessing the ripoff artist who installed the tile? Hopefully he's not long gone by now.
