Tiling round cardboard tube

I have an 8' tall x 10" round Heavy Duty Cardboard tube. I would like to tile it using the 1"x1" tiles. I'm looking for an adhesive that will hold the tiles in place in an outdoor setting. Adhesive must be clear. Does anyone know of such an adhesive?

thinset in a bag that you mix with water will hold the tiles. the cardboard won't last outside tho.

PVC would be far better than cardboard.
